We Love Cars!!

Cameron and Duncan are almost the same age...Since we've been here they've had their moments of cousin rivalry, but luckily we had some quiet time watching the movie Cars. Both of them loved it, and I loved seeing them together. Cameron's dad is my cousing and I have many fond memories of spending time with him.

Merry Christmas!!

Here we are on Christmas Eve in our Christmas jammies... Getting a good pic is obviously a nightmare for us.

Here are all the Great Grandkids together. Megan, Malachi, Eve, Analia, Cameron, and Duncan. They have been having a blast playing together. It brings back so many fun memories of playing with my cousins as a kid.

We made it to Utah and we're having a blast!!

The kids have never seen real snow before, so the next morning after we got there we were out playing in it and having a blast...

Evie stayed inside after the initial "winter" picture of the family, but she was happier there than in the cold.
Analia was so anxious to make a snow angel.

Duncan wouldn't stop eating the snow and still is eating the snow and then decided aunty needed some too...



Malachi had a great time falling into the snow.

I hate packing

It seems that the more I try to pack the more mess I'm making...This is insane!

I'm so embarrased

I've always thought of myself as lets say...good at staring without making it obvious. It's human nature to be curious of things that are different. Well the people who live next to us have a garage sale every single weekend. So this morning I went to take the laundry to the laundry room and I saw a guy that had that disease where he has hair covering his face. Well, I tried not to be obvious and I went to get a second look to be sure of what I saw, not to stare. Anyway...I thought "well I'll just go look at our car out front that we're selling and take a glance as I walk past." Well he just happened to be getting into his car which was by ours and I froze. I ended up looking at him, turning around, and walking back to the house. Poor guy, he knew I was looking at him. I'm such a jerk!

Disaster of a dream

So last night I awaken in a panic from a horrible dream. I dreampt that California was being sucked into the ocean. Slowly enough that we could get away, but still, it was being eaten!! Needless to say that I was in a panic to get everyone and everything ready to leave. Because people were fleeing we weren't able to drive which was a problem. We would have to walk, I didn't have a bag packed for the babies and I felt like I was going to drop dead trying to make sure we had everything to survive. I finally got it all together and then realized that we had to get our 72hr kits (which thanks to my parents, we have.) So we were pretty much in a bad situation and on top of it trying to figure out how we were going to carry everything and everyone. Needless to say I woke up very worried and concerned that I needed to get things in order...NOW! I would encourage everyone to do the same. I thought I was ready, but as I went through the motions in my dream I realized I wasn't. The time will come and we need to be ready.

Remember our Soldiers

This year the world seems just a little different to me. Times are changing and the ever present thought of war is in my head. This Christmas we wanted to say THANKS to our soldier "Uncle Whitney". He is in Afghanastan and we hope he is safe and happy this Christmas. May we always remember the sacrifices of our soldiers as we enjoy peace and saftey this year. God bless them and their families.

Disneyland

Last weekend we were so lucky to get to visit Disneyland with Scheddi's Aunt and cousin Elena. Tia Silvia bought us tickets for Christmas and we were so excited. The kids had a blast. The baby was perfect and even though Duncan was a little sick he was very good. Malachi got to ride
his first rollercoaster, Space Mountain. He loved it. Analia wanted to go again as soon as it was over. They got to ride Pirates of the Carribean which has definitly changed since I was a kid. They rode Star Tours, which wasn't a huge hit, but it was fun. They rode the new Buzz Lightyear ride where you get to shoot zurg. Duncan slept through the first ride, but luckily woke up again when we went at the end. He loved it as he is obsessed with buzz and woody. Or as he says, "Buh and Hat". We rode a rollercoaster in toontown. Rode the train around the park, rode the jungle ride, and the Matterhorn. Last time we went (when Analia was a baby) the Sub ride was closed, but it was open this time and it is really cool. It's finding Nemo now. Much better than 20000 leagues under the sea.

The kids got to drive the cars and I think Duncan had a blast giving Scheddi whiplash. It was very cute to see him driving. As you can see, he was a realy "speedracer".

The kid's pushed until the very end. They were more awake than me when we left at midnight. The loved all the rides and excitement. We had a great time.

Lesson Learned

So last week we were at the church for an appointment with the bishop. Scheddi and the kids were waiting in the car, when SMASH! A lady backed into them. It was quite traumatic for the kiddos, as they thought the car was going to tip over. Luckily they weren't hurt. I of course missed the actual accident because I was inside, but did witness the after math of the two of them exchanging info and yada yada. Stupidly we didn't call the police and there were no witnesses. Taking it on good faith that the woman's insurance would take care of the problem (since SHE backed into US!) we received a phone call from her insurance yesterday saying that she claims the accident never happened!!! The NERVE!! So we are now in the midst of insurance disputes hoping that we don't have to fork out the money. Just goes to show that even members are people too! So no matter who an accident is with, call the cops and get a witness. Lesson Learned!

Sorry aunty

I failed miserably in documenting our last few months as I forgot to mention that Aunty jordan came to visit us! We had a blast visiting the beaches, Hollywood, a couple of museums and the Griffith Observatory. We were sad to see her go, but hopefully will see her soon for Christmas! We love you aunty!

Quick Catch Up

Here is a quick rundown of what we've been up to since Halloween....

The kids had a blast trick-or-treating. (sorry mom these pics don't do your costumes justice.)

Next was Thanksgiving....

We went to the Ochoa's (Scheddi's grandparents). It was fun. The kids finally had some cousins that were close to their age to play with and we got to visit with a lot of family that we hardly get to see. We are so thankful for the blessings we have had this year. Our family is doing great, everyone is healthy, the kids are loving school, and we have had a great time living in California.

Up next is Christmas...so far nothing happening yet. No Christmas decor up since we're moving in a couple of weeks back to Texas for school. It was fun living in California, but time to move on. We'll keep you posted...Happy Holidays!

The first of many...

So I've joined the ranks of bloggers I guess. I've had a blog page for a while now, but haven't gotten around to actually doing anything with it until now. So in between wiping snot, stoping tears, changing diapers, doing dishes, cleaning up cheerios, washing laundry, running errands, spending much needed time with my hubby, and taking my regular vacation to crazy town, I'll try to keep this updated.
